Longstone Tyres Company Information
The name Longstone Tyres has been synonymous with retro, veteran, vintage and classic tyres for over 30 years. Longstone Tyres have huge supplies of all styles of retro tyre, veteran tyre, vintage tyre and classic tyre for virtually any oldtimer car ever made! The company is run by enthusiasts who are keen active members of the Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC) and other motoring clubs.
You are welcome to view our retro rubber selection at our Bawtry warehouse. The kettle is always on, and we offer free fitting and advice (and possibly biscuits). There are usually several retro, vintage and classic cars worth a glance in the workshop. You will also have the chance to look at our supplies of veteran tyre, vintage tyre and classic tyre, which range from beaded edge to the millimetric Michelin TRX tyre (fitting everything from the beginnings of Daimler Benz to Renault Alpine and Ferrari Testarossa).
How to Find Longstone Tyres
Bawtry is situated roughly 10 miles south of Doncaster on the old Great North Road. Bawtry is reached from the Blyth roundabout of the A1. The location of Longstone Tyres is shown on this map link.
Longstone Tyres Staff
Longstone Tyres has a dedicated tyre sales team of five people; all knowledgable and keen to help. These five are the people you will speak to on the phone and see at the race meetings offering advice on which retro, classic, veteran or vintage tyre will suit you and your car best.
Dougal Cawley
Dougal is the owner of Longstone Tyres, he drives, a Ford Model A roadster, a Fraser Nash/GN/Ford special ('Piglet')and of course (if its raining) a Zetec engined MkV Ford Cortina!! He has also just bought a Model A Sedan so the children don't get wet on the way to school and a ratty but fun Daimler 250 so his wife can waft along in style!
Simon Cox
Simon is a keen driver of the nimble Lancia Beta Coupe (come rain or shine), and has been fed Castrol R from a very early age. Unfortunately he has just blown the engine up so is having to fit a supercharged version instead! As a stop gap Simon has just bought a (manky) Jensen Healey to enjoy what is left of summer.
Andy Cawley
Often seen out and about in the Fraser Nash Super Sports or the GN. He has been a VSCC member for over 40 years!
Andy has just bought a 1921 Bean (possibly a has-bean), as his collection of underpowered cars was woefully small!
STOP PRESS!!!
Due to the demise of his 535i BMW Andy has been forced to buy a reliable (underpowered) modern car.
Craig Barrowcliffe
Craig has joined us fresh from the traumas of being a Navy medic ( handy for those morning after illnesses at some race meetings). Currently he has a BMW Z3 but due to severe bullying ( in the nicest possible way!)is looking to change to something more suitable as soon as possible. We will keep you posted as to the outcome.
Hurrah! Craig has managed to fob off the BMW on some poor soul and has got himself a Lotus Elise, and very nice it is too, I may almost be jealous!
Tom Homan
The newest member of our retro tyre sales team is Tom who has just got his driving licence ( on ebay I think )and has got a Vauxhall Astra to practise his skills in, until he can afford to insure a proper car! The Astra is now dead, so Tom is trying to break a Renault Clio instead Va Va Voom.
