Vintage Tires
Pirelli’s involvement in performance car tires goes right back to the vintage days at the begging of motorsport. One of Pirelli’s landmark vintage tires was the Stella Bianca, which Pirelli developed in 1927. This famous Vintage tire combined the tire inovations of the time: “Cord” carcass fabric enabling running at lower pressures and straight side bead profile. Stella Bianca
Pirelli’s post war development of the vintage Stella Bianca was further developments ion tread design, using trapezoidal blocks tied together with robust bridges preventing movement and damage at high speeds and under heavy cornering forces. It is this later development of the Stella Bianca that Pirelli are celebrating today producing tires like the ones used by Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Maserati in the ‘50s
